Sad news coming out of the wrestling world today as the lead singer of the 'DX Band' has passed away.

Chris Warren was just 49 years old, with the cause of death as yet unreported. As the name of that band would suggest, Warren was best known for providing the vocals to D-Generation X's iconic 'Break It Down' theme, arguably the best example of music fitting performers in recent wrestling memory.

Warren and his band notably performed at a number of big events during the Attitude Era, including WrestleMania XIV and SummerSlam 1998. At the former Warren performed largely panned versions of 'America the Beautiful' and 'The Star-Spangled Banner', to the point where the performances don't make it onto the WWE Network version of the show. At both events, the band performed DX's entrance music live.

Warren worked with WWE on a number of other themes, most notably the singles music of X-Pac and Triple H. His band Bro-Kin also provided themes for three TNA pay-per-views in 2007 and 08. One interesting piece of trivia here is that all three men who have sung entrance themes for Triple H have passed away.

Condolences to Warren's family and friends.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
