Revolution 2022 looks set to become the second most-bought pay-per-view in AEW history, according to early projections.

The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported on Thursday that the 6 March supercard had attracted 110,000 buyers across streaming platforms FITE and Bleacher Report. Depending on traditional pay-per-view performance, it is likely that Revolution ended up doing a total of somewhere between 146,000 and 170,000 buys.

Any figure within that range would place Revolution 2022 second in the all-time table. The top five would look as follows (h/t Wrestlenomics):-

1. All Out 2021 (205,000)

2. Revolution 2022 (146,000-170,000)

3. Full Gear 2021 (145,000)

4. Revolution 2021 (135,000)

5. Double Or Nothing 2021 (115,000)

Such a number would be considered a success, particularly as it would mean year-on-year growth by a minimum of 10,000 buys. All Out 2021's record is likely to stand for a while. With CM Punk's first match in seven years, other big-time matches, and the speculated debuts of Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson as selling points, that show's circumstances were unique - and would be difficult to replicate.

Nontheless, early projections look good for Revolution 2022, with MJF vs. CM Punk, Adam Cole vs. 'Hangman' Adam Page, and Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley likely the biggest selling points.
