Don't expect to see the 'Rated R Superstar' back in a WWE ring soon.

Edge's name became a hot-button topic when news of his bumper new WWE contract hit the internet earlier this week, accompanied with talk that the idea of one last match was being discussed privately, though this was tempered by WWE's internal belief that 'The Rated R Superstar' would never be cleared to compete again.

This rumours went into overdrive last night, when Fight Oracle tweeted the following:-

The tweet gained significant traction in pro-wrestling circles, but alas, it's probably false. Edge has issued the following rebuttal:-

So there you go, straight from the horse's mouth. Not that Edge's words should be taken completely at face value, though, as the 45-year-old isn't exactly going to come out and spoil what could be a major surprise.

Regardless, talk of Edge returning to the ring always seemed far-fetched. His 2011 retirement was a result of spinal stenosis, with doctors advising him that he risked neck-down paralysis if he kept going.

Edge returned to physical wrestling activity for the first time since calling it quits at SummerSlam 2019, where he nailed Elias with a Spear on the Kickoff Show. For now, it looks like this may be the last move he ever hits.
