When you have a longstanding feud that doesn't seem to have an off-ramp, how do you finally conclude it?

WWE is answering that question for the ongoing Edge/Finn Balor rivalry by bringing a popular gimmick match back to WrestleMania for the first time in seven years.

Hell in a Cell will return to the Showcase of the Immortals for the first time since WrestleMania 32 and only the fourth time in its 26-year history. Edge issued the challenge on Raw Monday night, noting that his feud with Judgment Day has consumed - and in his words, "wasted" - the past year of his comeback. Acknowledging that his time is short to accomplish what he wants during this career renaissance, Edge threw down the gauntlet at Finn, looking to end a feud that already has included an "I Quit" match (won by Balor) and a mixed tag bout (won by Edge & Beth Phoenix).

Doing away with the Hell in a Cell PLE and reserving the gimmick match for when a feud actually dictates or necessitates the cell is how things should operate, rather than artificially building up 2-3 feuds a year and throwing them into the cell because "it's that time of year." It rarely worked. At least this time, the Edge/Balor rivalry seems to be reaching its climax, so blowing it off inside the cell is the right call.

Also, keep an eye out for another development with Finn, who referenced his "demons" Monday night, giving a huge hint to his attire for Mania.
