Edge Reveals He Almost Signed With AEW

The 'Rated R Superstar' had talks with "another company" before his Royal Rumble return...

Edge has confirmed previous rumours that "another company" were interested in signing him before his unforgettable Royal Rumble return earlier this year.

Speaking on his newly released WWE 24 special on the WWE Network, 'The Ultimate Opportunist' appears to confirm reports that All Elite Wrestling were keen on securing his services following his Elias-spearing WWE appearance last summer, saying:-

"SummerSlam happened and another company within the industry contacted me and said they were interested and wanted to know if I could wrestle."

Ever the wrestling loyalist, Edge told this alternative employer throughout discussions that whatever the offer, he needed to talk to Vince McMahon regardless, insisting:-

'He’s done right by me my entire career. He gave me my chance. He trusted me to be able to pull off a lot of things, be a pillar for his shows, be a general. That goes a long way for me."

Vince McMahon apparently sat down with Edge and, after being informed of the situation simply stated, "Well, this needs to happen here."

The rest is history; Edge made one of the greatest WWE returns at the Rumble, penned a three-year deal with WWE, and is set to face Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania 36 tonight.
