Edge's WWE WrestleMania 37 Opponent Revealed
Backstage update on Edge's WWE WrestleMania 37 match after inconclusive Raw promo.
Edge will wrestle Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37.
This is according to Dave Meltzer in the most recent Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online Daily Update. He wrote that while there's no word on when, exactly, Reigns vs. Edge will be announced, the Universal Title bout is currently planned to headline 'Mania, which goes down in Tampa, Florida on 10 and 11 April.
Meltzer wrote in last week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that not only had WWE finalised Reigns' WrestleMania match, but they had locked in the men's Royal Rumble 2021 winner several days in advance as well. Edge ended up winning the Rumble to score his guaranteed title shot after Roman retained the belt over Kevin Owens earlier in the evening.
Edge appeared on last night's Raw, confronting WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in the opening segment. Regarding 'Mania, 'The Rated R Superstar' said he was weighing up his options, promising to leave the 'Show of Shows' as champion no matter who he faced. Him leaving the ring preceded Sheamus' heel turn on Drew, setting the Irishman up as a WWE Title contender.
Edge will appear on this week's SmackDown, where a Reigns confrontation is both feasible and likely.
