Elias And Chad Gable Advance To WWE King Of The Ring Semi-Finals

Penultimate round takes place at MSG Raw, SmackDown next week.

The quarter-finals of WWE's revived King of the Ring tournament concluded on last night's episode of SmackDown. Elias defeated Ali courtesy of the Drift Away, before Chad Gable reversed Andrade's hammerlock DDT into a pinfall to advance later in the evening.

Earlier this week, Baron Corbin booked his place in the semis with victory over Cedric Alexander, whilst Ricochet and Samoa Joe's tie ended in an awkward double-pinfall, meaning a triple threat in the next round.

The King of the Ring semi-finals are scheduled for next week. Raw, emanating from MSG, will see Corbin, Joe and Ricochet collide to determine a finalist. The next night, Gable and Elias will meet on SmackDown.

We'll learn the winner of the competition when the final takes place at WWE's Clash of Champions on 15 September.
