"Emmalina's" WWE Return Announced On Raw
The former Emma to return to the red brand soon...
Weeks after she was cleared to return to action, WWE is finally hyping the return of former NXT and current Raw star Emma - only with a new name, "Emmalina."
A vignette aired on Raw showing several still photographs of the Australian star, offering little in the way of concrete information. The promo closed with an onscreen message reading "The Makeover of Emma to Emmalina - Premiering Soon."
Emma has been absent since May, when she suffered a back injury that required surgery. At the time she was hurt, she was embroiled in a feud with Becky Lynch that saw her bring NXT associate Dana Brooke up to the main roster as a helping hand. After Emma was put out of action, Brooke was shuffled into an alliance with WWE Women's Champion Charlotte.
Emma was signed by WWE in 2011 and spent the first few years of her career in the organization in development. In 2014, she was called up and placed in a team with Santino Marella, but when Marella retired, she was sent back to NXT. While in her second stint in development, Emma turned heel and developed a more aggressive ring style, which she brought back to the main roster prior to WrestleMania 32.
