Eric Young Tells Vince McMahon He Has "Failed As A Leader"

Eric Young has conducted a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, touching on a number of topics related to his wrestling career - including his time in WWE.

One week from blasting the promotion's "broken system" on Busted Open Radio, Young stated that he didn't take his WWE release on 15 April personally, writing it off as "one person making a massive mistake," but said that his last three years in WWE had made him hate wrestling.

"Wrestling was the first thing I cared about so deeply, it consumed everything I did," Eric said. "The last three years, I hated it. I didn't watch it, didn't talk about it, and avoided it as much as possible. That's a weird place to be in."

On Vince McMahon, Young said that while the WWE Chairman had always treated him with respect, he was let go by the promotion because the boss couldn't recognise what he had to offer. "If you have a three-hour wrestling show and you can't find something for me to do, you're failing as a leader," Young stated. "Plain and simple. You failed your company, the shareholders, the fans, and yourself. The reason I wasn't on the show was his choice - no one else's."

Young has since returned to his old home, Impact Wrestling, redebuting at Slammiversary on 18 July.
