Every AEW Stable Ranked From Worst To Best
5. The Dark Order
Members: Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Alex Reynolds, John Silver, Preston Vance, Alan Angels, Colt Cabana, Anna Jay, Brodie Lee Jr.
The Dark Order, even when limited to Evil Uno and Stu Grayson, were one of the standout and unique properties of early AEW. Debuting at the AEW's inaugural pay-per-view under the cover of darkness and flanked by masked creepers, The Dark Order left a lasting impression - albeit not necessarily a positive one.
As the team slowly expanded, the mystery of the faction's leadership kept fans hooked as the members began to talk about 'The Exalted One', an off-screen leader who communicated with the group via hotel television. In the run up, fantastical guesses made the reveal feel like it wasn't going to live up to expectations. When Brody Lee appeared as the figurehead, any concerns were quickly silenced.
Just as the group and their leader began to make new strides in the company, tragedy struck when Lee was hospitalised with what was later revealed to be idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The condition took his life on 26 December 2020.
In light of the tragedy, The Dark Order became de facto babyfaces losing some of their identity along with their leader. However, tension caused by the battle for leadership has given the group a renewed purpose.
