4. vs Chris Jericho - WrestleMania XXVIII

Punk's upcoming match against Roman Reigns will be only the second time he's walked into Mania as a defending champion.

The previous time took place well over a decade ago and was against a very, very different foe.

Chris Jericho had set his sights on the Punkster ever since he returned to WWE in early 2012. The pair came to blows over their differing philosophies, their shared moniker of 'Best in the World', and the fact that Y2J was being a giant douchebag. Jericho taunted the WWE Champion over his family's history with alcohol. This is the feud that would give us the all-time great moment of the Canadian pouring booze over a prone Punk, only to then slip over and land ass-first in the drink.

Their WWE Championship match at Mania XXVIII was well-worked and emotional. The two established a great back-and-forth, trading signature submission attempts in a bid to upend the other. Punk would eventually snatch victory via the Anaconda Vise, retaining the gold and cementing himself as a top babyface champion.

This was a strong showing, but ultimately just paved the way for their much better Chicago Street Fight at Extreme Rules.
