Pepsi Phil had never been in a Money in the Bank or WrestleMania match prior to this one, but he had some top tier mentors to help him through it. Alongside fellow young stars Randy Orton and Mr. Kennedy, this encounter was packed with icons. Edge and both Hardy Boyz brought the ladder match experience, while Booker T and Finlay were no slouches either.

Weird to think that Finlay is technically one of Punk's most storied WrestleMania rivals.

If you want to talk about high spots, then this one has the biggest in MITB history. Jeff Hardy launching himself off a giant ladder to crush Edge beneath him is nothing short of spectacular. Elsewhere, Punk took a nasty fall off a ladder-assisted RKO and poor old Hornswoggle got absolutely wrecked by that mean old Kennedy.

Speaking of double K, he was the one who robbed Punk of the briefcase in the contest's dying embers. This was a fantastic match and a neat little start point for a three-year arc for our hero.
