Question; what else can be said about this movie - and indeed Dwayne Johnson's career - that isn't neatly surmised by the fact it was a critical bomb, but still made over 3x its budget at the box office. Sub-question; what else can be said about the sort of bad nerds who go on to be movie critics that isn't neatly surmised by them all, in unison, telling people not to bother with this film, but Cool People like me and you still getting hammered and giving it our Saturday night. Very little. Very little can be said.

It's part intriguing detective show, part balls-out action movie, part frat-house gross-out comedy, nobody's falling off their seat to declare the film "coherent" but likewise you'd punch a stranger in the mouth if you heard them label it "boring". Good fun really, like the beach itself.
