Yes you read that correctly, Kane is the one and only, Spanish-born WWE Champion in history.

While he is most certainly an American citizen, he still makes the list for being born outside of North America thanks to his family being stationed at an Air Force base in Torrejon de Ardoz, where little Glenn Jacobs was born before heading to the States as a very young child.

Unlike his interesting tale of birthplace, his one-day WWF Championship reign is not so memorable; in fact, it's often completely glossed over due to the chaotic mess that preceded his championship glory.

His slightly unexpected title win over Steve Austin came in bizarre circumstances. It looked as though the WWF had booked themselves into a corner by pitting them together in a First Blood match, a stipulation stacked heavily in Kane's favour considering he was wearing a damn mask and full body suit, not exactly conducive to seeing blood.

Apparently the WWF still wanted the title on Austin, but wanted to set up a four-way feud that saw Mankind and Kane team up against Undertaker and Austin, and this was their way of getting there as both Foley and Taker interfered in the First Blood match.

The only issue was that no one ever remembers this match, because it happened to be on the same 1998 King Of The Ring card as the famous Hell In A Cell car crash between The Undertaker and Mankind.

You know, the one where Mick Foley nearly died about a thousand times.
