'Switchblade's' transition from Young Lion to spotlighted star has been rough. He has sparked intrigue as CHAOS' agent of deception, but has regularly disappointed between the ropes, with his IWGP United States Championship win over Kenny Omega drawing a particularly poor reaction.

White's still learning his craft, but proved in a recent title defence against long-time rival Dave Finlay that he can be a great wrestler. New Japan aren't giving up on him, either. He'll get a decent G1 run, but the company will likely use it as a means of setting up the Kiwi's next few title defences rather than pushing him to the moon.
