Every NXT TakeOver Main Event In History: Ranked

This one was truly breathtaking, a ‘2-Out-of-3-Falls- Match’ that was a Three Stages of Hell in disguise, it was forty-six minutes of pure carnage. The whole match itself was worthy of all of the stars in Dave Meltzer’s back pocket, as each of the falls hit to a similarly high level.

The first fall was a textbook standard singles match that harked back to their two previous encounters. The second, a weapon filled extravaganza that went throughout the arena, giving each fan a taste of the action. Finally, the third fall was a ten times better version than the ‘Ambrose Asylum’ weapon weaved steel cage that preceded this bout by three years.

While the kick outs became excessive by the end, and the finish was a little too dangerous for the sake of looking dangerous, it didn’t matter. It was all too badass for anybody to care. When all is said and done, wrestling fans will look back at this one as the cherry on the top of one of the greatest trilogies that NXT has ever seen.
