Born in Amiens in the north of France, Clement Petiot - who wrestled more commonly as Tristan Archer - was one of the biggest draws in French wrestling at the time. His career told a story of championship quantity, not championship quality, as he entered the Cruiserweight Classic in possession of 2 Heavyweight Championships, one from the Netherlands-based Pro Wrestling Showdown and the other from the French-based International Catch Wrestling Alliance.

In September 2024, former NXT UK talent Amale used X to reveal a series of incriminating allegations against Petiot, with whom she had previously been in a relationship. Per her post, Clement had been physically, emotionally and psychologically abusive, threatened her family, was misogynistic and racist, cheated on her and stalked her.
Petiot was blacklisted from the industry with immediate effect, with just one promoter having been willing to book him since these allegations emerged.
