You never forget your first.

Edge owes a lot of thanks to MiTB for what it did for his career. First, it gave him a defining moment as the Ultimate Opportunist when he cashed in on a prone John Cena at New Year’s Revolution 2006, thus setting a precedent most MiTB winners would follow.

Of course, Edge’s first reign with a world title ended quickly, as he dropped the WWE Championship back to Cena at the Royal Rumble weeks later. However, it was because of that program Edge found himself in a feud with Mick Foley, which resulted in their show-stealing hardcore match at WrestleMania 22.

From there, Edge was a consistent main-eventer, racking up multiple world and tag team titles. That initial run as Mr. Money in the Bank allowed him to shake off the chains of midcard that had been shackled to him since breaking up with Christian. From 2006 to 2011, Edge helped define an entire era of WWE. And for that, he is the greatest Money in the Bank winner of all time.
