Every WWE No Mercy PPV Ranked - From Worst To Best
9. No Mercy 2007
The Good: Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay (if you ignore the ending), a surprisingly not-terrible Punjabi Prison bout between Batista and The Great Khali for the World Heavyweight Title, and a riveting Last Man Standing Triple H-Orton main event for the WWE Title.
The Bad: The wildly overlong filler segment that kicked the PPV off, Orton being awarded the WWE Championship and not fighting Chris Jericho (despite the crowd's overwhelming chants), losing the title to Triple H in the opener, Trips then having to defend the title against Umaga, and defending it once again against Orton in the main event...where he loses the title back to him, making it all feel rather pointless.
That's without even mentioning the horrendous 94-second CM Punk-Big Daddy V match, a dull-but-short Women's Title fight between Candice Michelle and Beth Phoenix, and a legendarily bad pizza-eating contest featuring Matt Hardy and MVP.
Verdict: Wildly uneven and honestly a bit of a slog to get through because of the lengthy non-wrestling segments. The main event is the only thing you really need to watch here, and just ignore the rather inane booking context surrounding it.
Proof that unpredictablity isn't enough to sell a show, though the PPV has a lot of vocal defenders. 5/10
