Every WWE NXT Call-Up In 2017: Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Elias

He's one of the most basic wrestlers on this list, and his act isn't everybody's cup of tea, but Elias has been a complete success on WWE's main roster.

'The Drifter' isn't there to dazzle audiences with five-star matches or dominate the main event scene. His job is to draw midcard heat, put the babyfaces over, and make your skin crawl. He's excellent at all three, and that's why he's among WWE's most successful NXT graduates in 2017.

Elias is one of only a few acts capable of drawing legitimate heel heat in the social media era. As great as they are, guys like Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, and Brock Lesnar will always be cheered, but 'The Drifter' gets nothing but pure, unfiltered bile from the moment he strums his first guitar chord. His acoustic diss tracks always get the audience riled up, making him a great opponent for anyone WWE want to build support for.

Last week's lacklustre bout with Roman Reigns showed that Elias is far from the finished article between the ropes. He may never be an elite-level worker, but he's a tremendous heat magnet, which places him among Raw's most effective performers.
