Every WWE Raw Intro Ranked – From Worst To Best
16. 2008
12 months prior we had pretty much the same intro but with a few slight amendments. I know I said we wouldn’t discuss the intros that only saw very subtle changes, but this gives us a chance to delve into this overemphasis on images of city skylines. It's become a pet peeve of mine, if you couldn't tell.
The problem with these images was that it made Raw feel a bit like a reality TV show. Which is likely the affect they were going for, but it didn’t really make a great deal of sense.
Reality shows do this to establish the location as they’re usually based in a single city, whereas Raw moves from place-to-place every week. It might have worked if they’d shown a few shots of the particular arena they were in that night, but that would require a lot of effort and even so it just seems a little superfluous.
Maybe it would have been best to just stick to, you know, the wrestling as opposed to these fancy, but unnecessary, shots of twinkling skyscrapers and motion-blurred light trails.
