Erick Rowan's character was on life support thanks to an utterly absurd spider-in-a-cage gimmick before WWE cruelly put a bullet in it on "Black Wednesday". Like all the wrestlers lost to the April cuts, he deserved better, but the same sentiment could be applied to just about every aspect of his booking before then.
