Buff Daddy becomes the Death Daddy as he seeks to take 2022 to the extreme.

Having stepped back in the ring for the first time in two years this past weekend, Buff Bagwell has stated his intention to do a Death Match at some point this year.

Buff Daddy had initially floated this idea on social media last week, with some not necessarily taking the five-time WCW Tag Team Champion seriously. After working an independent show in Chicago over the weekend, Bagwell has reiterated that he is indeed serious about mixing it up in a Death Match - and he's already got a 'Death Daddy' t-shirt up over at Pro Wrestling Tees.

As to why Bagwell wants to partake in a brutal, bloody Death Match, he wants to challenge himself and to help out others in a way similar to how Sting, Roddy Piper, Ric Flair and Lex Luger helped him out during his younger days.

Of course, hearing all of this will have many speculating that Buff may end up working a show or two for GCW, with that promotion famed for their hardcore wars. In recent years, GCW has found themselves in the mainstream spotlight due to Nick Gage's twisted war with David Arquette in 2018, not to mention Gage's Death Match against Chris Jericho on AEW Dynamite last year.

While GCW very much is the place where these extreme sorts of bouts are commonplace, the company isn't just about the hardcore action. Each passing month sees GCW gain more momentum, with them recently selling out the famed Hammerstein Ballroom for their The Wrld on GCW PPV.

Given Buff Bagwell's status in the wrestling business, one has to imagine that there'll be no lack of suitors should Buff be willing to put himself in a Death match environment.
