Former WWE writer Kevin Eck told the PWTorch Livecast this week that fans shouldn't expect to see the mysterious Sister Abigail character on television any time soon.

According to Eck, Bray Wyatt created the Sister Abigail persona to give his own character some background. As the story goes, Wyatt was a young man who met an older, black woman called Abigail in the swamps of Louisiana. Sister Abigail then proceeded to teach Bray the history of voodoo and let him in on secrets related to the dark arts.

This all led to Bray developing a God complex, as though he was the chosen one and had a message to deliver. It's all very in-depth stuff, and Eck believes Wyatt himself never planned for Sister Abigail to appear in physical form.

Bray envisioned the Abigail character to be almost like a witch who had taken him under her wing from a young age and turned him into the cult-like leader fans see in WWE today.

This would explain why WWE haven't yet introduced a female wrestler to play the part of Sister Abigail. In Eck's words, that wouldn't suit Bray's original vision.
