Ex-WWE Star Recalls 'Getting Heat' For Match With AJ Styles
This former WWE star got roasted backstage for his match with AJ Styles.

WWE officials were not happy with The Hurricane in 2002.
He'd just finished a match with young hopeful AJ Styles (taped for the 26 January episode of Jakked/Metal), and got roasted when he came back through the curtain. Helms told fans on Twitter that company officials complained that he'd given Styles "too much" during the bout.
This superhero didn't sweat their concerns - he could already see that AJ was special, and only wanted to do "everything in [his] power" to help the guy get hired. It didn't work, but that wasn't anything to do with Helms. He'd given Styles one hell of a match.
The Hurricane added that he "had heat" for not just going out there and squashing AJ like a local jobber. Instead, he let Styles showcase some of his flying moves before putting him away with a sweet (albeit scary-looking) 'Vertebreaker'.
When he returned backstage, Helms was almost shocked when officials pulled him aside and warned not to do anything like that again. Surely having a great match was good for everyone? Not on lower-tier programming like Jakked/Metal, apparently.
Helms regrets nothing.
