Candice LeRae has joked that she's "too old" for a return to NXT 2.0.

LeRae told fans at a Highspots Superstore signing that there's little chance she'll be back on WWE's third brand anytime soon. Then, Candice joked that being 36 years old makes her an uninteresting hire for NXT anyway.

WWE has shifted focus on NXT and turned it into more of a developmental brand than a hotbed for world class independent wrestlers. They're concentrating firmly on youth at the moment, and that's why LeRae doesn't think a comeback is on the cards.

Candice decided not to renew her company contract during time away on maternity leave, and it expired on 6 May 2022. Her husband, Johnny Gargano, also let his deal with WWE tick down before departing the previous December.

Both have been grilled on and off about whether they'll return to WWE or sign with AEW ever since - All Elite wasn't on one fan's mind when he asked the question though. WWE was, but it doesn't look likely that LeRae (for one) is even considering another run on NXT.
