Ex-WWE Stars Interested In Returning Under Triple H?

Paul 'Triple H' Levesque's appointment as WWE's head of creative appears to have made the market leaders a more attractive proposition for wrestlers, with several former stars claiming that they'd have stuck with the company had Levesque taken the role earlier.

Vince McMahon relinquished his creative duties upon retiring as WWE CEO and Chairman last Friday. Levesque's elevation was formalised on Monday, with the 53-year-old now holding the final say on WWE's televised output.

Fightful Select spoke to around two-dozen wrestlers who are no longer with WWE, most of whom were positive about the change. One, who left in 2016, said that while Triple H serving in his new role back then may not have convinced them to stick around, different creative circumstances may have altered how they perceived WWE's interest in them since departing.

Several former NXT talents stated their belief that had Triple H been in this role, they wouldn't have been cut by WWE. Although a couple accepted that pre-release, they weren't progressing or being utilised enough, one expressed huge loyalty to Levesque, saying "things could have been much different" had he been head of creative. One wrestler who has since signed for AEW stated that upon departure, they had zero confidence in finding creative satisfaction on WWE's main roster, but would have likely re-signed if Triple H had been in charge of Raw and SmackDown at the time.

A current free agent, meanwhile, stated that Levesque and new WWE co-CEO Stephanie McMahon ascending to positions of power increased the possibility of them ending up back in WWE.

Only one of the people Fightful spoke to said "I'll wait and see" when it comes to Triple H being better suited to the creative position than Vince McMahon. The rest were unanimous in their belief that he will be.
