Mickie James has started a "last rodeo" storyline in IMPACT Wrestling that could bring the curtain down on her 24-year career.

The promotion tweeted a clip from Mickie's promo on the latest episode, and it's worth seeing. In it, the former WWE star called her most recent run the greatest she's had - then, in a moment that had fans around ringside slightly shocked, James said she'd retire the next time she lost a match.

This, as longtime fans will know, is IMPACT's very own version of the angle Ric Flair worked towards the end of his active WWE run in 2007-2008. It remains to be seen whether or not Mickie will actually go through with retirement or not, but she has been speaking a lot about it recently.

24 years is a long time, but James still looks great in-ring and like she has more gas in the tank. However, this is very-much her decision. IMPACT will presumably build the story up towards one final blowoff bout so Mickie can wave goodbye to the biz properly.

She's due that respectful moment, to say the least.
