Exclusive Interview: Al Snow On The Future Of OVW, Career Goals & New Book "Self Help"

OVW can be watched every week on YouTube. Besides weekly television, what else is coming up for OVW?

Al Snow: We will be going live weekly with our television broadcast starting September 11th. Giving our talent the unique and invaluable opportunity to learn the skills and acquire the experience of performing on a live television broadcast. We also have started our own streaming network, ovwwrestlingnetwork.com where we feature the weekly and monthly shows, along with our very expansive library of 1,000-plus episodes along with training seminars from the likes of Billy Gunn, Shane Helms, Tommy Dreamer and more. We will be uploading new content as well that will be wrestling-centric...

I believe OVW is the first ever accredited trade school as far as wrestling schools go. How long did that process take from concept to implementation?

Al Snow: The process has been very arduous but well worth accomplishing. The whole process has taken nearly a year to complete with teams of paperwork and documentation. We think this will help give young men and women skills that will give them even more opportunities within pro wrestling / sports entertainment and are proud to be able to create this new approach to pro wrestling / sports entertainment education.

Who are some of the current OVW stars that you think are absolutely ready for the big time as professional wrestlers?

Al Snow: Fans should keep an eye out for Justin Smooth, Cali Young, Megan Bayne, King's Ransom, Corey Storm and Shiloh Jones. There are others who are developing as well.

Within your 40 years or so in the wrestling business, is there anything you haven't yet accomplished that you are still working towards?

Al Snow: I had three goals when I started. One, was to be able to make living doing what I love, which was being a professional wrestler. Two, have matches and moments that fans would remember. Three, was to make a name for myself, leave a legacy. I felt I have not only through my in-ring performance but also in all of the young men and women who I have helped train and develop. I feel confident in saying that I’ve accomplished those goals and so much more.
