Fans Reject Nikki A.S.H. At WWE House Show

The Raw Women's Champion wasn't a popular figure in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Nikki A.S.H. didn't receive the crowd reaction she (or WWE) would have hoped for in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday (14 August).

The reigning Raw Women's Champion was booed heavily while being introduced by announcer Greg Hamilton for a title defence against rival Rhea Ripley. Reddit user u/MotorCadeCunningham uploaded a video of the reaction, though Nikki didn't look particularly phased by the hostile reception, looking over to Ripley as the jeers rained.

This may have had something to do with Charlotte Flair's absence from the show. As reported earlier, WWE's most decorated Women's Champion was advertised for a hometown appearance on this live event but took the night off, attending AAA Triplemania XXIX with father Ric and husband-to-be Andrade El Idolo instead.

Similarly likely is that the crowd's reaction was a response to Nikki's Almost A Super Hero persona, which is designed to appeal to younger fans. The Scot adopted the character following battles with Flair and Ripley in June and has been playing it to a mixed critical response ever since, despite clearly putting a lot of effort into her performances.
