New WWE United States Champion Finn Bálor would love a match or two with Apollo Crews.

Bálor described Crews as someone who has "untapped potential" during a recent interview with Corey Graves on the announcer's 'After The Bell' podcast. Finn also said that ex-Intercontinental Champion Crews "is still on the rise and hasn't peaked yet".

Apollo's TV time would suggest something different, sadly.

Crews did the J.O.B for Omos on Monday's episode of Raw; his last in-ring appearance on the flagship before that fell on the 17 January edition. There, he teamed with Commander Azeez, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode in a losing effort vs. The Mysterios and The Street Profits.

Bálor obviously believes his old NXT alumni deserves better.

Finn added that the "depth on [Raw's] roster is unbelievable". He'd like bouts vs. Seth Rollins and another go-around with former US Champion Damian Priest, but he thinks that Apollo would be a fine challenger for the belt sooner rather than later.

Crews' last meaningful run came opposite Big E over on SmackDown. His fortunes kinda died on their arse following his IC Title win at WrestleMania 37.
