The hits keep on coming for NXT's Worlds Collide premium live event this weekend.

After complaining for the past couple of weeks that he doesn't have a match on the show, NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes announced Tuesday that he would not be defending his title at Worlds Collide.

But then SmackDown wrestler Ricochet appeared out of the smoke to confront the A-Champion and throw some shade at him. Ricochet noted that while Hayes was great, none of his title defenses were memorable, and he would give the champ a title match that would be remembered.

Trick Williams tried to attack, but Ricochet dumped him and caught a spring-boarding Carmelo with a Recoil to stand tall to close the show.

In NXT, Ricochet was a huge deal, capturing the North American Championship before heading to the main roster, where his talents were largely squandered. He's seen a resurgence in recent months, winning the Intercontinental Championship and holding it for three months, and under Triple H's regime, he's defeated Happy Corbin twice this month.
