Former WWE Money In The Bank Winner Shockingly Debuts For AEW (AEW News)
Bishop Dyer, fka Baron Corbin, made his AEW debut last night.
In a somewhat surprising move, Bishop Dyer, fka WWE's Baron Corbin, made his AEW debut last night.
Dyer was in action in a dark match before last night's AEW Dynamite broadcast, where he was on the losing end of an eight-man tag bout that saw the one-time WWE United States Champion and former Mr. Money in the Bank teaming with Martin Stone (fka Danny Burch) and the Better Together tandem of Ori Gold and Hadar Horvitz against the team of Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, Elijah Drago, and Brady Booker (fka Bodhi Hayward). Interestingly, Billy Gunn played a part in Bishop's training during the Kansas native's time in the NXT system.
Footage of Dyer entering the match has surfaced online, such as this clip on X from @xeniadidthat:

While this is a first AEW match for Bishop Dyer, the 41-year-old has been pretty active inside and outside of the ring since WWE opted not to renew his contract in late 2024. Most notably, Bishop is one-half of the current MLW Tag Team Champions with Donovan Dijak as a pairing known as the Skyscrapers, and he's also worked for notable promotions like Josh Barnett's Bloodsport/GCW and Scott D'Amore's Maple Leaf Pro. Away from the squared circle, the real-life Thomas Pestock has been successful in several jiu-jitsu tournaments and is nowadays part of the Busted Open Radio crew.
Whether this AEW appearance was simply a one-off or leads to something more, that remains to be seen.
