Former WWE Wrestler Debuts In IMPACT, Taps Out In 1 Minute

An easy night's work for his ex-WWE wrestler, who debuted with a loss in IMPACT Wrestling.

Big Kon Josh Alexander

Former WWE wrestler Konnor debuted for IMPACT Wrestling on last night's show, losing to Josh Alexander in around one minute after being introduced as a hurdle on his opponent's road to a World Title shot.

Alexander was accosted by the former Ascension man during his show-opening promo. Now going by Big Kon, the 42-year-old got right in Alexander's face, prompting the Canadian to challenge him to a fight there and then. Kon went with it, a referee hit the ring - and the fight was on.

Until it was off roughly one minute later.

The former Konnor was quickly put down by Alexander, who endured being attacked at the bell and a brief onslaught before putting his opponent on the mat, putting him in an ankle lock, and sealing the victory. Though Kon tried to fight through the pain, he was left with no option but to tap out.

Alexander wouldn't split from Kon after the bell, forcing security out to split them up. Josh put them down too, then shoved IMPACT executive Scott D'Amore when he hit the ring, leading, eventually, to Alexander being sent home.

Released from WWE alongside Ascension partner Viktor in December 2019, Kon had competed primarily on the independent circuit over the past few years, having largely fallen out of the wrestling zeitgeist. The duo were best known for their long run as NXT Tag Team Champions between 2013 and 2014, fending off all manner of challengers in regular squash victories in a year-long reign.
