With WWE Money in the Bank 2022 now in the record books, we have two new champions in addition to two first-time winners of the titular MITB ladder match.

As for the title changes, the first of these saw Bobby Lashley defeat Theory to become the new United States Champion. This marks the All Mighty's third reign with that title.

Prior to that, the opening match of the night had Liv Morgan emerge victorious in the women's Money in the Bank ladder contest. There, Morgan was victorious in a bout that also featured Becky Lynch, Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez, Alexa Bliss, Lacey Evans and Shotzi.

Skipping ahead to the second-to-last match on the card, Ronda Rousey retained her SmackDown Women's Title against Natalya after forcing the Canadian to tap out to an armbar. Post-match, Liv Morgan successfully cashed-in her newly-won MITB briefcase to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion after countering an ankle lock into a roll-up for the 1-2-3.

In the main event of Money in the Bank 2022, the men's ladder match had Theory inserted as a late participant... and he would be the one celebrating as the PPV went off the air. In a bout against Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Riddle, Sami Zayn, Omos and Madcap Moss, it was Theory who was the somewhat surprising winner who claimed the MITB briefcase.

Elsewhere at the premium live event, the Usos retained their Undisputed Tag Team Championships against the Street Profits in a barnburner that left a rematch on the table due to one of Montez Ford's shoulders being off the mat for the match-ending pinfall. Likewise, Bianca Belair kept hold of her Raw Women's Championship in a relatively straightforward victory over Carmella; the EST of WWE hitting the Kiss of Death for the win.
