Further Update On FTR's AEW Status

Dax and Cash recently returned to AEW... but could they still be on their way out of the company?

Having recently returned to AEW programming, there now comes a further update on the AEW status of FTR.

As per Fightful Select, the duo of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are privately telling people that their AEW deals are up soon.

Previously, the belief was that FTR's current AEW contracts were up in April, with Harwood himself having made mention of this several times on his own FTR with Dax Harwood podcast. There, Dax has noted how the tandem's deals are up in April, and that they have a major decision to make on whether to re-sign with AEW, return to WWE, or explore other options.

Despite this, a report earlier this month claimed that FTR are actually in fact tied down to AEW for the long-term, and speculation over their future has merely been done as part of their recent return to AEW action. Such claims have since been shot down by Harwood.

That return came at this month's AEW Revolution, where Dax and Cash came out to lay a beatdown on the Gunns following Austin and Colten's successful defence of the AEW Tag Team Titles.

Whether or not FTR are indeed already signed up to AEW for the next few years, or whether they are in fact weighing up cracking skulls elsewhere, that remains to be seen. One way or another, we should at least have a clearer idea on this situation once April gets here.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic. Between his main dayjob, his role as the lead panel host of Wales Comic Con, and his gig as a pre-match host for Wrexham AFC games, Andrew has also carried out a hugely varied amount of interviews, from the likes of Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Rob Zombie, Katharine Isabelle, Leigh Whannell, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd, to Kevin Smith, Ron Perlman, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Simon Pegg, Charlie Cox, the Russo Brothers, and Brian Blessed, to Kevin Conroy, Paul Dini, Tara Strong, Will Friedle, Burt Ward, Andrea Romano, Frank Miller, and Rob Liefeld, to Bret Hart, Sting, Mick Foley, Ricky Starks, Jamie Hayer, Britt Baker, Eric Bischoff, and William Regal, to Mickey Thomas, Joey Jones, Phil Parkinson, Brian Flynn, Denis Smith, Gary Bennett, Karl Connolly, and Bryan Robson - and that's just the tip of an ever-expanding iceberg.
