GLOW Season 3 Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

2. Geena Davis Is (Mostly) Wasted

Much press was made of Geena Davis joining the cast this season as Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, the entertainment director of the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino where GLOW has its Las Vegas residency.

So it's a shame to report that the ultra-talented Davis is basically wasted for most of the season and given depressingly little to do beyond look the part in power suits while rocking meticulously coiffed hair.

There are just two scenes in the entire season featuring Davis that stick in the mind - a conversation with Debbie and a late-season surprise too brilliant to spoil - and though Davis clearly seems game for the part, Sandy ultimately feels underwritten for the stature of the actor playing her.
