Goldberg “Done Saying Sorry” To Bret Hart

According to Da Man: "I said I'm sorry, if you can't accept my apology, it is what it is."

Goldberg is done feeling guilty for his part in Bret Hart's eventual retirement from wrestling.

In a recent appearance on the Talk is Jericho podcast, opposite another performer Da Man has had a rather turbulent history with, the former WCW World Champion was nudged on the topic of Bret "The Hitman" Hart and his place in the history of the industry.

As big Bill put it (H/T WrestlingInc):

"Bret Hart is still up here. He's an idol to anybody and everybody who has ever been in this business."

This saluting of the much-loved icon's legacy inevitably led to the subject of Goldberg booting Hart at Starrcade 1999 to the point of suffering a severe concussion that would pave the way for The Hitman eventually suffering a stroke; one that Bret feels was linked to said initial injury.

After years of apologising for the incident, though, Goldberg has decided that he's "at a turning point" with the whole situation, despite still being bothered about the whole ordeal and confessing, "I'll take it to my grave". As the former Universal Champion would tell Le Champion:

"There was absolutely no malicious intent whatsoever. None. Zero. Does it bother me? Yeah. I'll take it to my grave ... I'm at a turning point, I'm done saying I'm sorry. I've said it's a million times and I'm not going to continue to tear myself down. I'm done. I said I'm sorry, if you can't accept my apology, it is what it is."

Jumping back to the aforementioned beef between Da Man and Jericho during their time in WCW, Goldberg would also notably add, "You and I had some issues. If there was anybody in the business at the time I wanted to hurt, it probably would've been you."

Thankfully, these two stars appear to be over their historic problems. The same cannot be said for Goldberg and Hart, however, with Bret still not being a fan of Bill as of August 7, according to a Twitter clip uploaded by a fan recently.
