Goldberg Enters 30-Man WWE Royal Rumble 2017 Match
29 other men are next...
Hot on the heels of a Survivor Series comeback that saw Bill Goldberg dominate Brock Lesnar en route to a 1:26 victory, "Da Man" has announced his next move - he'll be participating in the 2017 Royal Rumble.
Goldberg started off Raw in Toronto by addressing the crowd and thanking them for their support, then thanked his wife and son for giving him reason to get back in the ring. Soon, however, he turned his talk to his exploits in the ring, explaining that after his victory at Survivor Series, Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon challenged him to see if he had one more title reign left in him. Accepting the challenge, Goldberg entered himself in the January classic.
Goldberg is a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, having captured the WCW version of the title in 1998, then WWE's iteration of the belt in 2003. He's only competed in a single Royal Rumble, that being the 2004 event. In that match, Goldberg was eliminated by Kurt Angle after suffering an attack at the hands of Brock Lesnar.
The Royal Rumble will air live on the WWE Network on Sunday, January 29.
