More than 12 years after leaving the wrestling business, Goldberg is finally set to make his long-awaited return to WWE Raw next week (17th October).

The man himself confirmed the news via Twitter during last night's show...

The Tweet came as a response to Paul Heyman, who returned to Raw last night not only to hype WWE 2K17, but address Goldberg directly. One week after Goldberg had told ESPN that a Brock Lesnar rematch would be his first priority if he returned, Heyman issued the challenge: a fight with Brock Lesnar "anywhere, any place, anytime."

Goldberg's WWE return has seemingly been in the pipeline since his inclusion in in 2K17 was announced back in May. He was heavily hinted to appear at August's SummerSlam, then again at Clash of Champions, and the return is now finally coming to fruition.

Last week's ESPN interview suggested that Goldberg still hadn't made a decision on wrestling again, but do last night's developments put a rumoured WrestleMania XX rematch back on the table for November's Survivor Series?

We'll find out next Monday.
