Goldberg's 9 WWE Losses - From Cleanest To Screwiest

7. Vs. Drew McIntyre (Royal Rumble 2021)

Golderg's aura was long gone by 2021, during which he worked Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble.

He must have got the call later than he'd anticipated, because he entered the WWE ThunderDome as if he thought it was an actual Zoom call, wearing plain black gym shorts.

Glasgow kiss to start off before Drew wrecked Goldberg with a spear of his own. Hot start! Drew should dust that off more often; it's better than a lot of the flying hug spears you see in wrestling today, and the man is great at propelling himself off the ropes.

Then, after Drew took a header into the steps, Goldberg speared him through the barricade. Now, normally, the ThunderDome was a grotesque dystopian abomination - but here, Drew's battered body found itself propped up against the LED screens and you could see a close-up of digital fans losing their mind over the spot. For all of a second, the building looked slightly less uncanny. Slightly less like everything you knew of life was dead.

Drew cut off a spear when the match officially started before unleashing a killer Claymore kick. This watch was astonishingly good for a modern day Goldberg performance. It was a predictable cliché that Paul Heyman could have written even with broken hands, of course, but these boys crashed into each other with a pleasing brute dumbass force, at least.

After the customary spear and Jackhammer kick-outs, Drew won clean in the middle of the ring.
