Goldust Wrestles As Dustin Rhodes On WWE Raw

A new direction for the former Intercontinental Champion?

WWE veteran Goldust hasn't had an easy ride lately. The former Intercontinental Champion ran afoul of Bray Wyatt on last week's Raw, with 'The Eater Of Worlds' wiping his trademark face paint away immediately after pinning him, claiming it was "a weapon to protect you from the truth."

The mini-feud continued this week, but Goldust didn't wrestle under his usual moniker. Instead, he competed as his real name, Dustin Rhodes, putting forward a spirited performance before once again falling to Sister Abigail.

Though he worked under his real name, Rhodes was still decked out in his old-school Goldust attire (sans face paint), and even performed his Shattered Dreams signature move. It's currently unclear whether or not this was a permanent switch or a temporary deal to play into the previous week's angle.

Interestingly, Dustin also tweeted his brother Cody earlier in the day, inviting him to compete alongside him in a Rhodes Brothers vs. Hardy Boyz match at WWE's upcoming Starrcade event on November 25th. Their father, Dusty, is credited with creating the event name back in the 1980s.

Cody's negative reaction to the event's announcement makes a Rhodes family reunion unlikely, but you never know.
