'Hangman' Adam Page Taking Time Off From AEW After World Title Loss (AEW News)

Adam Page is stepping back from AEW TV.

After coming up short at AEW Revolution last weekend, Adam Page is set to take some time away from AEW.

Of course, Revolution saw Hangman lose to AEW World Champion MJF in a brutal, bloody, barbaric Texas Death offering, with the added stipulation that, should Page lose, he would never be able to challenge for the AEW World Title again in his career.

Per Fightful Select, AEW sources have indicated that Hanger will be taking some time off. That report came out shortly before last night's Dynamite, and it noted that it wasn't sure whether that absence would start immediately or if he would appear on Dynamite for the next few weeks before then stepping away. Since then, Dynamite has come and gone, and Page was entirely absent from that broadcast. That said, MJF also wasn't in the building last night, with his only presence on the show being a fantastic promo taped in the immediate aftermath of that Revolution match.

The last time Adam Page took any notable time off was also after AEW Revolution, this time after the 2024 edition of that PPV. That was where Page and Swerve Strickland failed to dethrone AEW World Champion Samoa Joe in a triple threat bout. Storyline-wise, Page would be suspended by the Young Bucks for attacking referees, and he'd return four months later as a surprise entrant in the men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

There's no word yet on how long Page is expected to be off TV for.
