Has Bobby Roode Signed His Contract With WWE?
The former TNA Champion may officially be a part of NXT.
PWInsider is reporting that former TNA Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode signed a deal with WWE at the last set of Full Sail University NXT TV tapings, even though he wasn't used on camera there.
Roode and former partner/rival Eric Young, who both joined TNA in 2004, left the company in March amidst rumors that they were both owed several thousands of dollars. R
oode has made one single appearance on WWE TV at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, where he was shown sitting in the crowd. He did not appear at the TV tapings at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center the next day.
Whether or not Roode has actually signed, WWE is fairly confident that they can count him among the NXT roster. The company actually tweeted that he would be part of June's NXT UK tour, but quickly took the note down.
As for Young, who made his NXT debut on this past Wednesday's episode with a confrontation with, and subsequent loss to, Samoa Joe, nothing has been finalized. Young told Niagara This Week that he was only at the NXT tapings to meet with HHH, but he was offered the chance to work Samoa Joe and took it. On his contractual status, he said, "We are working on contract stuff now, but there isnt a final pen to paper yet.
