Heels Review: 10 Ups & 2 Downs For Episode 2: 'Dusty Finish'

Ups...

1. Willie Gets More Time In The Spotlight

Given how the basis of Heels revolves around the Spade siblings, last week's debut episode was always going to go hard in establishing Jack and Ace Spade - which meant that some of the other important players of the series were left in the shadows a little.

This time out, Dusty Finish does an impressive job of giving some of those other characters some time to shine. And one such figure, is Mary McCormack's Willie Day.

The business manager of Jack's when it comes to the DWL, Willie is shown here doing more than just quip wise as she did last week. While those quips and comebacks are thankfully still around, here we got to see Willie do a bit more than just fire off snarky comments and great one-liners.

In particular, Willie's diner-set back-and-forth with rival promoter Charlie Gully of FWD was a standout scene of Dusty Finish, with her clearly having no time whatsoever for Gully's BS or his offer to buy the DWL Dome. While Jack may be having his own troubles and issues, it's becoming more and more clear that Willie is the glue that keeps the DWL together.
