How Baron Corbin Is Helping WWE Out Backstage

Baron Corbin proved his worth to WWE in a major way at recent SmackDown tapings.

Baron Corbin's flexibility and adaptability will have no doubt endeared him to his WWE paymasters after the SmackDown 'King' worked several different sets of tapings in a row for the promotion.

Per a new report from Fightful Select, Corbin was present at WWE's Superstar Spetacle tapings in January, where he teamed with Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, and Shinsuke Nakamura in a loss to Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, Giant Zanjeer, and Dilsher Shanky. This was the only show he was supposed to tape content for at the time, but he ended up filling in on SmackDown tapings as well.

All of this went down around the time WWE was experiencing a minor outbreak of the virus currently ravaging the planet.

Corbin stepping into the void for those SmackDown tapings is cited as the reason behind his feud with the Mysterio family continuing beyond what many felt was a natural conclusion. This storyline finally wrapped on 12 February, when Corbin and Sami Zayn defeated Rey and Dominik two-on-two.

Zayn and Corbin renewed their partnership on this week's SmackDown, losing to the Street Profits. Neither man has a clear or obvious direction heading towards WrestleMania 37.
