Vince McMahon could scarcely believe it when he learned that Sting was choosing TNA over WWE in 2003.

AEW's newest legend revealed on the promotion's 'Unrestricted' podcast that McMahon only had one word to express his disgust at the decision. During a conversation between both men, Vince started by saying he couldn't fathom why the Stinger would want to tarnish his legacy by joining Jeff Jarrett's upstart company.

Then, once Sting told him definitively that he was TNA bound, Vince muttered, "BLAGH!".

Sting couldn't believe that he'd literally said that. It wasn't even a muffled sound - Vince "literally" said "BLAGH!" and then moved on to other WWE business.

The former WCW icon ended up working a few dates with TNA, but didn't sign a full-time contract until 2005. By that point, McMahon had given up on trying to lure Sting to WWE. That, rather incredibly given his star power and importance to WCW for for so many years, didn't happen until 2014.

Sting also said he doesn't regret going to TNA over WWE. He enjoyed one hell of a run in Impact Wrestling, and looks back on that period of his career fondly.
