How WWE Superstars Reacted To Talent Cuts

What a difference a day makes.

Make no bones about it, on April 15 2020 we witnessed the most shocking mass exodus in wrestling history as a frightening 37 WWE wrestlers and staff were all released (as of writing) from Vince McMahon's company.

It's never easy to see talents cut from the roster after being deemed surplus to requirements, but what makes this incident so scandalous is the fact that the company recently stated that they had $500 million stored away to prevent a sudden culling of staff due to the current global situation.

Yet, here we are. Hours after Vince McMahon confirmed that cutbacks and furloughs would be on their way in his impromptu conference call, a multitude of talented wrestlers, referees, producers and coaches (to name but a few) were all given their marching orders and - if rumours are to be believed - some of these releases may have even come via text.

As you'd expect, this sort of seismic change in the current WWE lockeroom has caused quite a stir online.

Talents who remain under contract in the company and a few of the stars who have been unfortunately let go haven't been shy about giving their opinions on what was one of the most surreal couple of hours in recent wrestling history.

28. Becky Lynch

Hoping that this entire situation is merely a temporary solution, current Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch tweeted out an optimistic message to all of her friends who have suddenly lost their jobs.

Lynch clearly feels that there is some light at the end of this dark tunnel. Hopefully this positive tweet/wish comes true and we see the vast majority of these talented employees return to the company in the near future or whenever this 'hardship is over' as the Irish star put it.
