How WWE WrestleMania 35 MUST End

The Grandest (Final) Stage Of Them All.

For three atrocious years, WWE's Royal Rumble match was so profoundly broken that hardly anybody noticed that the same thing was happening on an even bigger stage. 'The Grandest' one, in fact.

When Rey Mysterio got booed and Dave Batista got obliterated all for the want of a non-company 'Yes Man' back in 2014, Vince McMahon ultimately relented via extreme convolution that saw the 30th edition of the 'Show Of Shows' go off the air with the streamers and celebrations of old. Daniel Bryan had won his title, fans had been given their dream sequence as a reality, and the brand's big finish was back to best after a trio of poorly-received conclusions centred around The Rock and John Cena's three-act play.

The following year served both masters. Seth Rollins was a people's choice Champion escaping a very Vince McMahon match with the title in tow. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns had dished all the big boy banter he craved - he was contrite enough to let 'The Architect' smash it all to pieces at the end. He's been putting us all back in our box ever since.

WrestleMania 32 boasted the (artificially inflated) biggest attendance ever, but that number was halved by the time Roman Reigns defeated Triple H in a main event that caused busier traffic outside the venue at the sound of the first bell rather than the last. Those that stuck around for 'The Big Dog's calamitous headliner with The Undertaker the following year were given two reasons to be tearful at the end - they thought The Undertaker might have retired for good and they'd just had to sit through that match. Brock Lesnar was so utterly f*cked off with the absurdity of his topline scrap with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34 that he launched the Universal Title at Vince's head when he got backstage.

McMahon called him an "a*shole", but Lesnar, for once, reflected the will of the people; WWE were fudging the finish again, and again, and again.
