Huge Backstage Heat On WWE Star

Why WWE is burying this SmackDown wrestler over and over at the moment.

Backstage heat with members of the creative team could be the reason behind Top Dolla's current treatment on WWE television.

Dave Meltzer reports on Wrestling Observer Radio that the Hit Row member has "some enemies on the creative team." Top Dolla, who "is not very popular with some people", was dealt what Meltzer described as "the burial of all burials" on last week's SmackDown, dropping Hit Row's stage of a tag team gauntlet match to The Brawling Brutes in around eight seconds.

Top Dolla has been dealt a rough on-air hand since botching an attempted dive over the top rope on a December 2022 SmackDown episode. Commentator Michael Cole has made a concerted effort to remind fans of this since then, repeatedly burying the big man even six months later.

Hit Row's last televised win on WWE television came on the 20 January episode of SmackDown, where they toppled Los Lotharios. Top Dolla and Ashante 'The Adonis' have wrestled only one regular two-on-two match lasting longer than five minutes in 2023.

Completed by B-Fab, Hit Row has been back in WWE since August 2022, when they were amongst the first of Paul 'Triple H' Levesque's re-hires as Chief Content Officer.
